DIY: Tea Ice Pops & Ice Cream

Tasty tea treats to enjoy on a hot summer day!

These hot summer days have inspired us here at Catalyst Tea Company to get creative with our tea. This week we're focusing on some sweet, herbal iced treats sure to hit the spot and cool you down during the grueling peaks of heat this summer has in store for us.

Pick Your Tea

For these specific treats, we recommend using either our Crimson Sunset herbal blend or our Jasmine Butterfly tea. Not only do these teas lend themselves to the summer vibes with their flower petal base, but they're also wonderfully fragrant and intensely colorful. Perfect for ice cream or ice pops.

Crimson Sunset Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Cups of heavy cream

  • 3/4 Cup of whole milk

  • 1/2 Cup of sugar

  • 1 tbsp Crimson Sunset herbal tea blend

  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk sugar and whole milk. Whisk regularly until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture creates steam.

  2. Remove from heat and add in your tea. Let it steep for 10 minutes, then remove the tea with a mesh strainer.

  3. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract. Chill your mixture in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

  4. Once completely chilled your prepped mixture is ready to pour into your well-prepared ice cream maker.
