Fourth of July Tea Ideas

Tea ideas for the 4th, four ways!

Summer is officially in full swing, and the 4th of July is just around the corner. For many of us, that means family and friends gathering, grilling, and hanging out by the pool. And what better way to enhance all those things than with an ice-cold, refreshing tea? Or, treat yourself to a tea-infused ice pop. This week we're doing tea four ways for the 4th of July!

Just The Tea

Starting off with a 4th of July favorite is our spin on iced tea using our very own Crimson Sunset herbal tea. This blend of hibiscus flowers, chamomile, apple pieces, orange peel, and whole lavender flowers has a deep red color and a floral aroma. It will pair well with complex desserts and spicy meats. The hibiscus symbolizes love and affection, which will bring beauty to your life. It's also delicious over ice.

Our favorite quick and easy way to prepare a cold brew tea is by using a French press to let the tea brew. You can either leave the press in the refrigerator overnight or use chilled water to fill the French press for faster results.

Jasmine Butterfly Ice Pops

For these specific treats, we recommend using either our Crimson Sunset herbal blend or our Jasmine Butterfly tea. Not only do these teas lend themselves to the summer vibes with their flower petal base, but they're also wonderfully fragrant and intensely colorful. Perfect for ice cream or ice pops.

Ingredients:

Other Items:

  • 1 Small saucepan

  • Popsicle mold

  • Mesh Strainer

  • 1 Quart Mason jar

Directions:

  1. Bring water to a rolling boil and add in your tea. Remove from heat.

  2. Let the tea steep for 10 minutes, then remove with a mesh strainer.

  3. Stir in honey and let your tea mixture naturally cool down for an additional 10 to 20 minutes.

  4. Once your tea is cooled, pour it into your popsicle molds and freeze overnight to enjoy the next day!

Crimson Sunset Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Cups of heavy cream

  • 3/4 Cup of whole milk

  • 1/2 Cup of sugar

  • 1 tbsp Crimson Sunset herbal tea blend

  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk sugar and whole milk. Whisk regularly until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture creates steam.

  2. Remove from heat and add in your tea. Let it steep for 10 minutes, then remove the tea with a mesh strainer.

  3. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract. Chill your mixture in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

  4. Once completely chilled your prepped mixture is ready to pour into your well-prepared ice cream maker.

Herbal Ice Cubes

herbal ice cubes are great for any occasion because they really dress up any drink they're added to. Some options could be both aesthetically pleasing, as well as add a different take on flavor or color to the drink overall. Adding a piece of ice that's been imbued with our Jasmine Butterfly green tea blend, for instance, to a glass of lemonade, or a 4th of July cocktail will give your drink a transformative experience!
