Green Algae

The unknown skin benefits of green algae!

Lately, there's a green algae craze going on that's all the rage. So this week we're getting into the real tea on all things algae. Blue and green algae are on the rise because of their amazing skin-smoothing benefits, and the fact that it's nature's natural antioxidant.

What is Green Algae

Green algae is essentially a grouping of autotrophic eukaryotes that contains chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is essentially the pigment in plants. In addition to providing the green color, it also facilitates plants in helping them to create their nutrients. Green Algae can be found in lakes, ponds, rivers, and some soils. However, it prefers fresh water.

Chlorophyll

As we've previously mentioned, chlorophyll has been converted into ingestible drops, and supplements because of its many benefits. At the top of the list is weight loss. Drinking chlorophyll water regularly can help reduce inflammation and promote better digestion as it aids the liver to cleanse the body of toxins more effectively.

Green Algae Benefits

Blue and green algae helps to hydrate and smooth out skin texture. It's full of vitamins, proteins, and minerals. The high concentration of vitamin C leaves the skin looking luminous, and may also reduce the appearance of wrinkles, as it helps to firm up the skin.

Tea Time

This week we're asking if you've ever tried a skin care product that included blue or green algae. If you have, did you notice an immediate difference? Or, was the transformation more of a gradual process? Let us know in the comments!
