Hot Cranberry Cider

A hot cranberry cider recipe to spice up your holidays!

We're days away from the new year and most of us are scrambling to figure out what we'll serve for our New Year's Eve parties. Luckily, Catalyst Tea Company has you covered regarding the drinks. This spiced cranberry cider recipe is a quick and easy way to offer a great-tasting signature drink to your guests and a beverage to enjoy all winter.

All Things Cranberry

This recipe was inspired by one of our popular seasonal teas, Cranberry Orange. This herbal tea blend with dried cranberry and orange is great to enjoy during a cozy winter's night. It will quickly add holiday ambiance to any place and lift your Yuletide spirit! Make yourself a cup of tea, relax, and embrace all the goals you have achieved this year!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Cranberry Juice

  • 4 cups of Apple Cider

  • 1/4 cup of Cranberries

  • 1 Whole Orange

  • 1 Star of Anise

  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks

  • 2 Cloves

Directions:

  1. In a large pot over low heat, pour apple cider and cranberry juice.

  2. Add cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves to the mixture. (Adding these ingredients packed inside a reusable tea bag will make extraction easier.)

  3. Add in your fresh cranberries and increase the heat until your cider starts to boil. Once a roiling boil is achieved, lower the heat to simmer.

  4. After 15 minutes remove the spices, or tea bag of spices.

  5. Remove from heat, and serve with a slim slice of orange, or leave on the stovetop on the lowest heat setting for warm keeping throughout your party.

*You may also transfer your cranberry cider to a crock pot, set to a warm setting if you need the space on your stovetop.
